The Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) is the expert guiding voice for life after spinal cord injury. Every year, the charity supports thousands of individuals through direct services such as clinical advocacy and counselling, whilst also coordinating a network of partners and community groups nationwide. Underpinned by clinical expertise and the lived experience of thousands of members, SIA’s vision is simple but powerful: A fulfilled life for everyone affected by spinal cord injury.
They achieve this by:
- Providing critical health and care support to newly and long term injured people in hospitals and beyond.
- Coordinating a network of support services nationwide.
- Building vital specialist expertise across the health and care sector through training, education and research.
- Campaigning for change on issues such as accessibility, rights, and long-term wellbeing.
It’s a vision we at Absolute Mobility feel strongly aligned with. Our experience has provided us with the knowledge that often people do not know who to reach out to for specialised home adaptions following injury. The relationship between Absolute Mobility and SIA will start to bridge that gap.
