The Challenge
Mr F’s condition meant that the existing ensuite was no longer suitable. Limited space, standard layout, and lack of accessibility features made daily use increasingly difficult and unsafe.
Mrs F approached us to carry out a full rip-out and redesign, with a clear focus on safety, accessibility, and future-proofing. The space needed to accommodate assisted use and potential wheelchair access, while still feeling comfortable and practical.
To achieve this, structural changes were required. This included removing an internal dividing wall to open up the room, repairing the ceiling, and widening the doorway to allow for easier access moving forward.
The Outcome
Our team completed a full wet room installation tailored specifically to Mr F’s needs. By removing the dividing wall, we created a more open and accessible layout, allowing for improved manoeuvrability and safer use of the space.
We installed a level-access wet room floor using a Showerdec system to ensure reliable drainage, along with Altro Pisces safety flooring in Shoreline to reduce the risk of slips. Half-height shower screens were fitted to allow for both independent and assisted use.
To further support comfort and independence, we installed a Closomat Palma Vita toilet and a Triton Elina thermostatic mixer shower, providing safe and controlled water temperature.
The finished space is now a safe, practical, and future-ready wet room that supports Mr F’s condition while maintaining a clean, modern appearance.
