The Challenge
The existing bathroom included a traditional bath and separate shower enclosure, both of which had become increasingly difficult and unsafe to use.
At 95 years old, mobility and balance were key concerns, making stepping in and out of the bath particularly challenging. The layout of the room also limited movement and did not provide enough open space for safe access.
The client’s family wanted a solution that would prioritise safety while remaining simple, practical, and easy to maintain.
The Outcome
We carried out a full bathroom transformation, removing the existing bath, shower enclosure, and floor tiles to create a larger, more open space.
A low-level walk-in shower was installed, providing easy step-free access and reducing the risk of trips and falls. A sleek glass screen was fitted to maintain a clean and modern appearance while containing water effectively.
For additional safety and comfort, we installed a fold-down shower seat and slip-resistant Altro Pisces flooring in Lighthouse, ensuring a secure surface underfoot.
The finished space is now bright, spacious, and most importantly, safe, providing the client with a much more comfortable and accessible bathing experience
