Restoring Dignity and Ease to Your Bathroom

An accessible toilet is a fundamental component of any bathroom for the elderly or those with reduced mobility. By reducing the distance you need to lower yourself, a raised toilet promotes independence and confidence. Our expert team can seamlessly swap your existing unit for a comfort height model, often pairing it with strategically placed grab rails for the ultimate supportive setup.

FAQs

What exactly is a “comfort height” toilet?

A comfort height (or raised height) toilet has a pan that sits higher off the ground than a standard toilet; usually around 460mm to 480mm high. This higher resting point makes it much easier to sit down and stand back up, requiring less joint flexion.

Can a comfort height toilet be fitted in place of my old one?

Yes. In the vast majority of cases, an accessible toilet uses the exact same plumbing connections as a standard toilet. Our fitters can simply remove your old unit and install the new one with very minimal disruption to your bathroom.

Do I need a raised toilet seat or a brand new toilet?

While plastic raised toilet seats are an option, they can sometimes feel unstable or slip. Installing a dedicated comfort height toilet provides a permanent, incredibly sturdy, and much more aesthetically pleasing solution for your home.

Can I have support rails fitted next to the toilet?

Absolutely. We highly recommend pairing a comfort height toilet with drop-down or wall-mounted grab rails. During your home consultation, we will measure the perfect height and distance to position the rails for maximum leverage.
