Mr and Mrs H – Oxfordshire

The Challenge

Many people that experience mobility challenges find that they develop over time. In the case of Mr and Mrs H, he used to be a builder, carrying heavy objects and placing significant impact on many parts of his body, he was now dealing with ongoing arthritis. The development of this condition meant that the couples conventional full-length bath was no longer comfortable to use.

Bathroom adaptation to accessible shower room for person experiencing arthritis, first fix

The Solution

Our designer James went out on an appointment and met Mr & Mrs H. It was decided that they would like to have the whole room re-vamped and a low level shower put in, with the caveat that it had to look contemporary and modern. A complete renovation followed which saw the existing bathroom suite and all tiles completely removed.

The Result

The new accessible low level shower room came together beautifully, incorporating an attractive wooden slatted shower seat, Mira Select Flex thermostatic shower mixer, and a new wash basin and WC. The look was completed by using a mix of panels from Zest and White Gloss Tiles for the wall, with Altro Pieces non-slip flooring in the Shoreline colour. We think you’ll agree it looks marvelous

“I am writing to let you know how pleased I am with the completion of my new shower room. My fitters were Jim & George who were friendly and polite, I was sorry to see them go at the end of the week. They involved me at every stage and cleared up after themselves each day, they were quite frankly the best workman I have ever had in my home and I’m sure a valuable asset to your company. Very well done!”
