Inclusivity in sport is crucial for fostering a fair, equitable, and enriching athletic environment. It goes beyond mere participation and encompasses a broader set of principles aimed at ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background, identity, or ability, has equal opportunities and feels welcome.
It is for these reasons that our business has chosen to support the Festival of Inclusivity at Cantley Park taking place on Friday 27th October 2023. Our team will be in attendance, and we hope to see you there too. Encouraging individuals with physical disabilities, learning or neurological conditions to engage with sporting activities can have profound physical and mental health benefits. When everyone can engage without discrimination, it promotes overall well-being, reducing the risk of obesity, depression, and other health issues. This philosophy runs in parallel with our business’s reason for being, to create accessible bathrooms designed around our customer’s needs. Circumstances or events that affect an individual’s mobility do not have to stop that person living the most fulfilling life possible. The Festival of Inclusivity underscores this and demonstrates what people can achieve if they are given the opportunity.
Event Activities
The event has been organised by Sport Together Berkshire with support from Wokingham Borough Council. It is a multisport extravaganza programmed specifically for children and adults with physical disabilities, learning or neurological conditions. It is a fantastic opportunity to discover sports like basketball, cricket, football and rugby in a safe and supportive environment.
There will also be the “Start Together Finish Whenever” 1-mile event, which can be tackled at whatever speed you wish, though the emphasis is on participation.
