Why Do Mobility Bathroom Firms Never Advertise Their Price?

Many people frequently ask why mobility bathing firms do not advertise their prices or provide a price list with their brochure. After all, everyone is keen to know how much it is going to cost. In answer, mobility bathing firms will respond that they need to come out and visit your home, look at the bathroom, confirm all of the works required and only then can they confirm a price.

In many ways this is good practice as all bathroom works, particularly mobility bathroom adaptations, are unique to the end user’s requirements. As such, it is not fair to offer a “headline” price in an advert, brochure or on a website as the pricing will always vary to include everything an individual may require.

However, many firms take this as an opportunity to get a salesman through your door. Once there he conducts his visit in a pushy, hard sell manner along the lines of some of the worse examples of sales practices we often see highlighted by consumer affairs TV programmes. You may well find yourself hustled into signing on the dotted line for an overpriced bathroom that does not meet the needs of the end user.

Fortunately, these types of firms are easy to spot, as they often give themselves away at the start of your enquiry as they refuse to give any guidance or information about their pricing or products without securing a home appointment.

When you’re coming up against this kind of thing, you can be left wishing for a firm that operates a bit differently. Absolute Mobility is different.  We are happy to give guide pricing over the phone when you make your initial enquiry. This gives you a “ball park” figure on where you might expect a new walk-in bath, easy access shower or wet room to start from price wise. Though obviously a full bathroom refurbishment can be difficult to price over the phone, and complicated works like converting garages or unused rooms into bathrooms will need a site visit to pin down exactly what is required.

When we visit you to quote for the required works, our approach is different. First, we carry out a mobility assessment in order to guide you on which bathroom solution would be best for you. This includes an opportunity to try a walk-in bath using the mobile showroom which the Mobility Advisor will bring with them. A unique opportunity in the field of mobility bathing as other firms do not provide a chance to try before you buy.

We have found that allowing our customers to try before they buy is an essential part of the buying process, as not all people experiencing mobility problems will get along with a walk-in bath. In these cases a shower is more appropriate. Many companies may only be in a position to show you an image of a walk-in bath with no opportunity for you to assure yourself that it is right for you.

Our pricing is clear, honest and competitive and many people find our quotes lower than that of a larger firm.
We have also been trading since 2009 and, unlike many other bathing mobility firms, have received enviable feedback on Checkatrade.com and Which? Trusted Traders.
